Here's the results of a busy day doing demo on Lake Erie steelhead patterns at Cabela's in Dundee, MI, on Saturday. Not that many people there this time, but those that came stayed the whole time, 10 AM - 4 PM, and kept me busy.

Dam- Another One Gone!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBUNndPBA6k
Check out this YouTube link as demolition of the IVEX dam in Chagrin Falls. OH, starts. The dam is being removed as part of ongoing project to improve water quality on the Chagrin River, on of Ohio's primary steelhead fisheries.
Dog friend, SA/Ross Pro Staffer, and Patagonia Fishing Ambassador Jeff Liskay is actually behind the controls of the equipment as the dam wall is breached!

This Reel Rocks!
Ross's F1 series reels received a prestegious 2012 "Best of the Best" Award from Field & Stream magazine. The award is given to only one product in each category and the F1 took top fly reel honors for this year.
F1 Reels feature a 6061-T6 aluminum 1 piece frame and 1 piece spool. The carbon fiber/stainless drag inteface has an 8-point friction system with no start-up intertia. The stainless steel spindle rotates inside fully-sealed stainless ball berings. Conversion from right to left hand is very simple and the spool has a quick-rlease button.
Available for line weights #2-#12, the F1 excels in any fly fishing environment and is available in three finishes.

Great Lakes Mixed Bag
Dog friends Capt. Austin Aducci of Grab Your Fly Charters and Kurt Kupola of aTightloop had an interesting day recently fishing one of the warm water discharges in southern Lake Michigan. The guys caught browns, smallies, and carp form the same spot. Now that's an interesting mixed bag!
Here's Captain Austin with a chunky brown that hit a streamer.
Getting Close
Sorry, been a while since I put anything new up. I have been working as much as possible on completing my book manuscript. Also, have had to do some extensive road work for several shows and showing Patagonia.
Good news is that the manuscript is nearly complete, then the editing process begins. Look for "Fly Fishing the Inland Oceans" to be on the market January of 2013!
